Things to do...

Penwaun Holiday Cottages are within easy reach of a variety of activities, so whether you want a lazy escape or to be out and about exploring, you will find something for everyone…the spectacular coastline of Cardigan Bay and Pembrokeshire with its seals and dolphins, castles and museums, stunning country walks, and attractions for the children or the young at heart!

The Preseli Mountains and our favourite beaches are just half an hour away.

Go back in time on a nostalgic trip on a narrow gauge steam train, browse around craft shops and potteries, visit the National Wool Museum which is close by, or head to Oakwood Theme Park which is always a hit with youngsters. Golf and horse-riding are available locally.

The River Teifi is an outstandingly beautiful river, and Cenarth Falls is a popular spot to admire its majesty, particularly early in the season. Try a coracle ride, canoeing or fishing for salmon or brown trout. An ideal spot for a picnic or pub lunch.

The historic market town of Newcastle Emlyn, on a loop in the River Teifi, is about 5 miles away. It has a good range of shops, banks, pubs and cafes, as well as fine period architecture and the remains of a 13th century castle. You’ll find most of the high street stores in Carmarthen and Cardigan, which are half an hour away.

The National Botanic Gardens of Wales. This 568 acre garden has fabulous flowerbeds and ornamental features ranged around a stunning centrepiece – the teardrop-shaped Great Glasshouse. The only place in the world you can visit the Mediterranean, South Africa, Australia, Chile and California on the same day!

Aberglasney, the intimate "garden lost in time" which sprang to prominence in a BBC pogramme. Travel back to the 16th century as you wander around Aberglasney's Cloister Garden. See for yourself why this glorious garden restoration project and its mysterious history has captured the imagination of so many.
